Here we go! Let's discuss the weather, to begin with...

There was a young man from Mali
Whose leg melted off at the knee.
When asked if it’s hot
He said, “It is not.
“We don’t call this hot in Mali.”

Sure.
A priest and a shepherd from Australia participate in a TV game. After answering all the questions, there is a tie. So both are given one final assignment. It is to write a poem in three minutes, using the word "Timbuktu". It is city in Africa.
The priest returns with the fruit of his inspiration:

"I was a father all my life,
I had no children, had no wife,
I read the bible through and through
on my way to Timbuktu ... "

The poem makes a great impression, and the priest smells a sweet victory. But then comes the shepherd, with his winning masterpiece:

"When Tim and I to Brisbane went
We met three women cheap to rent.
They were three and we were two,
So I booked one and Tim Booked Two... "

4- nice story,even despite the mere fact that it is a 100% copy&paste stuff. Nonetheless - it was jolly and fun to read!

Such a silent place it is. Amazing. I was hoping to get a livelier chat in here- )

11-Yeah, sure thing, we might as well go ahead and discuss a specific topic, but at the same time it is possible to talk about anything and nothing in particular. Just like a thread about everything in moderate quantities. So, we can just carry on and it will be the best solution. Do you have any burning issues in mind to discuss, anyway? If not - just keep up the chit-chat.

The sucks- true, on the other hand - it is refreshing and keeps the scorching heat down. I am inclined to sustain the pouring rain rather than get roasted under the radioactive sun. Yesterday I was almost fording the "wavy" roads in the certain parts of the city. It was unpleasant and bad for the car. I agree - it is a disaster, but the heat is no better. There should be some alternative, but alas - there isn't at the moment.

The rain sucks, I mean. oops- )

Horek, if you're asking everyone, then I've been learning it for more than 20 years and I have a lot of practice. I talked to men and women, boys and girls from all over the world via the Internet, mostly over Skype and MSN, sometimes over Yahoo. I visit different forums abroad as well. I'd very much like to speak to people who have good pronunciation and grammar. I'm not against chatting in any way, so be free to write.

At least some movement in the topic-)) Nobody was here over the weekend what makes me think that only the office people [filolog]frequent[/filolog] this forum- )

Wow, what is it? I had written a normal word and it was cancelled! Pathetic... It was an innocent word "visit" and here we are...

You make a lot of mistakes, but it's okay, you're just learning. What movies do you watch? Do you listen to music in English?

I watch different films. With subtitles and without. Listen to music in English, of course. But I can't speak in English freely. It's my problem.

Study and all will be in time. The more practice you have, the better your English will be. And try to read books and English, and as a suggestion, try to write more in English. Doesn't matter what you write, try to do it in a correct way, using different words, constructions and styles.

30-I know English a little. Enough to understand and to speak- )

Pity that the group is not so big yet. But even those who are present do not speak very intensively. Sad. However, something is better than nothing. Hopefully it will be more fun here, in the fullness of time- )
